ISWAISWA’s sixth Beacon Conference on Waste Prevention and Recycling is organised by the ISWA Working Group on Recycling and Waste Minimisation (WGRWM) and hosted by the City of Oslo, Norway. Registration is open and rolling, we hope you will join us in Oslo! Confirmed Key Note speakers are Julie Hill, of the Waste And Resource Action Programme, UK; Markus Reuter, of the Helmholz Institute, Germany as well as Björn Appelqvist, head of WGRWM, Denmark.

This year our distinguished speakers will focus on the waste prevention aspects of the new circular economy, experts will highlight inspiring case studies as we move towards zero waste societies.

Leading themes in focus are:

Conference highlights include two study tours: one to a number of sites recovering waste from Oslo’s households and the other following the journey of bottles with a deposit fee from the store through to the sorting and recycling plant.

Places for these tours are limited, so do register your preference in the online registration form.
The formal conference programme also includes an evening excursion for a meal in the glorious countryside surrounding Oslo.

In addition, the city has much to offer with its iconic harbour-side Opera House, the Nobel Peace Centre and the Viking Ship Museum, all within easy distance from the main square.
