Beacon ConferenceWith the Global economy still in a fragile state and the ever greater need for the circular economy, now is the time to re-focus on waste prevention and recycling.

There is no better way to do this than by attending ISWA's sixth Beacon Conference on Waste Prevention and Recycling taking place from 15 to 17 June 2016 hosted by the City of Oslo, Norway.

It provides the best opportunity to update information and maintain connections on the current issues affecting the waste and resource management sectors. The conference will feature policy makers on the waste prevention aspects of the circular economy and practitioners with expertise towards moving to zero waste.

There will be many opportunities to meet colleagues from around the world and establish new contacts.

There is the choice of two study tours: one to a number of sites recovering waste from Oslo's households and the other following the journey of bottles with a deposit fee from the store through to the sorting and recycling plant.

The formal programme also includes an evening excursion for a meal in the glorious countryside surrounding Oslo.

In addition, for those able to spend time before or after the conference, there will be the chance to do some sightseeing in and around Oslo, with its wide variety of historical sites, museums and galleries and iconic harbour-side Opera House.
